However eyes are important organ of our body which requires our attention all time. It should be kept in mind that what is harmful and beneficial for our eyes.   1. Eat Healthy food:

Omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E are essential nutrients for eyes and they also help to fight against age-related vision problems like macular degeneration and cataracts. Try to add these in your meal for the sake of healthy eyes

  • Green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collards
  • Salmon, tuna, and other oily fish
  • Eggs, nuts, beans, and other nonmeat protein sources
  • Oranges and other citrus fruits or juices
  • Oysters and pork

Thus avoid too much sun exposure.

It is best to select such sun glasses which stop 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB rays to pass through. The lenses which can cover sides are more helpful to protect your eyes. Polarized lenses reduce glare while you drive. You can find even contact lenses that have ability for UV protection. But to stay on safe side it is better to wear sunglasses to make it sure.

  3. Quit Smoking

One of the most common and dangerous habit of smoking not only affects your lungs but it is very harmful for eyes. People who smoke are on threat to get cataracts, damage of optic nerve, and macular degeneration. If you’ve not tried yet to quit it then now focus on this. Try your hard to leave smoking. If it is not successful effort then ask the doctor for help.

  1. Look Away From the Computer Screen

Nowadays computer, mobiles, Tabs and TV screens are too much in use which affects eyes badly. They can cause Eyestrain, Blurry vision, Trouble focusing at a distance, Dry eyes, Headaches, Neck, back, and shoulder pain.

It is important to wear glasses if you have vision problem and it should be working perfectly. If you have eye strain better to consult a doctor and use eye glasses prescribed by doctor. Always keep monitor a little bit up so you look at screen slightly down. It is good to use anti-glare screen. Once you feel your eyes are dry, blink more. Rest your eyes every 20 minutes. Look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Get up at least every 2 hours and take a 15-minute break.
