At first, you may have to hold reading book far away to see them. But after time, you may have to remove your glasses to see up close. By wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses, your vision may improve. But, if you want to improve vision over 50, there are some ways to do so.
Eat For Your Eyes
Carrots are good for your vision. Carrots contain vitamin A, an important nutrient for vision. But, not only vitamin A can promotes healthy eye function. Beside this include foods which contain vitamin C, vitamin E, copper, and zinc to your diet.
Macular degeneration can become your biggest challenge when you get older. Macular degeneration can be reduced by antioxidants. Make sure to eat foods like eggs, pumpkins, carrots, dark leafy greens, and sweet potatoes.
Fish is also great for your vision. Coldwater fish are rich in DHA, a fatty acid that strengthens cell membranes, including those in your eyes.
Exercise For Your Eyes
Eyes muscles could use some exercises to remain in good shape. Eye exercises are effective when done in the morning. If you are compatible for a month, you may start noticing a difference.
Start by warming your eyes for five seconds with the help of warm palms. Do it three times. Rolling your eyes isn’t just an expression of annoyance, it can help your eye muscles too. Circle your eyes and look up atleast ten times in both directions.
To sharpen your focus, hold a pen at arm’s length and focus on it. Slowly rotate the pen closer until it’s about six inches distance from your nose. Do this process again atleast ten times.
Full Body Exercise For Vision
Exercising for at least twenty minutes a day is healthy for your whole body, including your eyes. Improved blood circulation is helpful to the small blood vessels in the eyes as it detach harmful substances that may have been place. Exercise does not have to be intense. In fact, a brisk walk is enough.
Rest For Your Eyes
Closing your eyes for some minutes is helpful. When you are busy on computer at work, you can do this once an hour or many times. And if your job is sitting in front of a desktop or reading, closing your eyes can be refreshing. As simple as it sounds, this exercise can secure your eyes from over exertion or fatigue.
Have Regular Eye Exams
People wait unless they experience vision issues to get eye exams. But that can be late sometime. Early eye exams can help diagnose problems before they become severe. Most eye problems can be corrected when detected early on time.
